Girls' Day at Lauffenmühle at April 23rd 2009
An exciting workday at a producer of textiles
Go girls - we will conquer Lauffenmühle!
We report on our day at Lauffenmühle. What we girls have been looking for at Lauffenmühle? Well, it was Girls-Day! It takes place at April 23rd - each year. But what is it all about the Girls-Day?
It is a day - arranged for girls - to get impressions of professions which are usually fulfiled by men. This time 13 girls of an age between 11 and 16 years conquered Lauffenmühle.
Meeting point was Lauffenmühles conference room, were we met at 9 am. We were welcomed by human resources manager Oliver Schwarz, who seperated us into three groups. Those groups were asigned to different departments, where we could see behind the curtains of daily business. At 11.30 we were allowed to share in a factory tour wich was carried through by Mrs Cordes and Mrs Güntert. We started not until having taken two group pictures.
Afterwards we have been invited for a common lunch the break room. In the afternoon we - that is to say the group working at the marketing department - used the remaining time to work out this report for Lauffenmühles website. Here you can see us at work:

Primarily Lauffenmühle provided 10 places, but there have been 13 demands - and we've been able to
support all 13 pupils. The contacts were arranged via the official website of Girls' Day: http://www.girls-day.de/English_Information , the girls could apply via that site directly at the companies providing places
for that day.
