Comfortec Satin 215 – outstanding wearing comfort according to FIH: Latest rating (February 2010) with overall grade 1.5 (excellent)
Grade 1.9 (grades from 1 – very good, up to 6 – unsatisfactory) was not satisfying for us: After slight adaptations of the fabric the wearing comfort of the Lauffenmühle Comfortec Satin 215 (total blend 50/50% CO/PES) was tested again by the Hohenstein Research Institute. On 02.02.2010, the Research Institutes of Hohenstein rated the article with the wearing comfort grade 1.5 (excellent).
Comfortec Satin as a modern and intelligent fabric combines maximal wearing comfort with best maintenance properties; it excels at its noble look and is directly available from stock in lots of colours.
Due to its specific construction the cotton-rich fabric in satin weave offers a significantly increased proportion of cotton on the side of the fabric that is next to the skin - compared to a regular 50/50 blend. Beside an even softer dermatological friendly touch the adapted fabric shows an excellent moisture absorption and also the friction resistance on the skin was significantly reduced. In details the renowned Textile Institute examined the thermo-physiological wearing comfort – assessment with grade 1.6 – and the dermatological wearing comfort – assessment with grade 1.4.

Also the wearing comfort grade of 1.5 (excellent) was granted to the article Comfortec 215 in twill weave by the Institutes of Hohenstein. The reason for this outstanding assessment lays on the skinning side, too: Contrary to the customary cotton-rich fabrics (mostly 50/50% blends in warp and weft) Comfortec 215 offers with 75% a very high proportion of cotton on the side of the fabric that is next to the skin, which results in the outstanding wearing comfort mark by the Research Institute Hohenstein.
Nevertheless, the increased polyester proportion on the outer side of the fabric fulfils all requests of the laundries for mechanical capacity of the fabrics. Also in leasing-business the fabric achieves a good service life, easy maintenance, optimal colour fastness and shrinkage characteristics and good pilling values.
Because of the specific construction the Comfortec articles of Lauffenmühle satisfy the demands of all wearers of Comfortec fabrics for natural fibres on the skin as well as the demands of all laundries and leasing companies for easy maintenance and outstanding technical performance of the used textiles.
