FRESHNESS & MOISTURE MANAGEMENT  

With the blended fabric containing 50 % of the purely organic fibre Tencel, Lauffenmühle has developed a fabric that can regulate moisture like a second skin. Excess moisture, such as sweat, is absorbed and wicked away from the skin. At the same time, the air can permeate to the skin, giving the wearer a feeling of freshness.This perfect moisture management ensures the best dermatological microclimate – and thus also the best feeling of well-being, which is also supported by the soft and voluminous sensation of the goods.

DERMATOLOGICAL FEEL & SURFACE OF FIBRE

Tencel is a pure, soft, natural fibre and is eminently suitable for sensitive skin. The property of the surface of the fibre and its capacity to absorb moisture influence skin tolerance greatly. While rough and wet textiles can lead to skin irritations due to increased rubbing, the high proportion of Tencel (50 %) in the blended fabric gives it a smooth surface and ensures that a lot of the moisture is absorbed. This means that fabric sticks much less to the skin and the subjective feeling of well-being is significantly increased.                                

TEMPERATURE & WEARING COMFORT

Tencel has the cooling effect of an air-conditioning system. In comparison to cotton,Tencel can absorb 50 % more moisture through its sub-microscopic channels between the individual nanofibrils and wick it away from the skin, leaving it feeling cool and dry at all times. Dermatologically friendly functions of the fabric blended with Tencel such as the smooth surface of the fibres, good thermal regulation, high level of moisture absorption and thus less sticking all favour a positive dermatological micro-climate and offer the wearer a natural feeling of well-being with increased wearing comfort.

HYGIENE & SAFETY

The hygienic fibre Tencel demonstrates an unusually low level of bacterial growth. The removal of moisture into the interior of the fibre removes the basis of life of the bacteria since they require moisture to breed.The use of 50 % Tencel in our blended fabric helps to reduce the growth of bacteria.

PURE & HARMLESS

The raw material for the 100 % organic fibre Tencel is the renewable material of wood, grown using sustainable forestry practices within a closed cycle and without the use of pesticides. The fibre is naturally pure.The manufacturing process of Tencel fibres guarantees that there are no harmful substances in the fibre and it has received several awards for its environmental friendliness. Besides conforming to the Ökotex Standard 100 (Ecotex Standard 100),Tencel also has been awarded the European eco-label certification (the EU’s Blaue Blume – ‘blue flower’).
