The pure tencel fibres used for Tec Cell fabric are of botanical origin, since they are obtained from the raw material wood – without any use of pesticides.

Tec Cell® fabrics regulate moisture as perfectly as a second skin: Excess moisture such as perspiration is absorbed by sub-microscopic channels between the individual nanofibrils and evaporated to the outside. 



At the same time, air reaches the skin, ensuring a feeling of freshness. The perfect moisture management, similar to an air conditioning system, provides an ideal skin climate and thus the highest possible feeling of well-being. Tencel is a pure, soft, natural fibre and is eminently suitable for sensitive skin thanks to the fibres’ smooth surface. While rough and wet textiles can lead to skin irritations due to increased rubbing, the smooth Tencel fibres (aided by the wick-like absorption of moisture into the interior of the fibre) greatly decrease the adhesive effect on sweaty skin and significantly improve the subjective feeling of well-being.

141022_tc-bw_fas-oberfl i-v_abb_web klein_beschn.Another component of the exceptionally good wearing comfort results from the soft and voluminous sensation of the product, which - in contrast to conventional polyester-cotton blends – actually increases the more often it is washed. We therefore recommend that you always present clothing from Tec Cell® fabric after it has been washed. An alternative recommendation is to enclose fabric samples that have had at least five washes, because the excellent feel of the goods is a product advantage that can only be truly felt this way.

In work wear, Tec Cell® offers added comfort by a good opacity with a lower weight than traditional cotton-blends. The opacity is maintained, even after a large number of washes because tencel fibres - unlike cotton – hardly become detached from the woven fabric through the washing process.

Besides this, Tencel as a natural hygienic fibre, exhibits exceptionally low bacterial growth: The removal of moisture into the interior of the fibre removes the basis for life that the bacteria would need to multiply. The risk of infection and odour is significantly reduced - without using any chemical additives.


Outstanding technical product characteristics

The Tencel fibres of the lyocell genus are artificially made from natural cellulose-based polymers; thus Tencel blended fabrics with polyester do not contain any extraneous fibres whatsoever. The low particle emission also differs from the particle release of cotton blended fabrics - contamination is accordingly reduced when used in critical areas.

These tests showed that significantly less stain residue remains on the fabric when compared to conventional polyester-cotton blends. One can deviate from that result an improved performance while post-treatment costs can be reduced.

Industrially washable and easy-to-clean

141022_tc_waschfrau+pro care label colour+white_web kleinTec Cell® fabrics are also ideally suited for industrial laundry due to their outstanding technical performance: They are easy to clean, and the feel of the fabric becomes even softer and more voluminous with a greater number of washes.

Series of tests in tumbler and tunnel finishers, as well as reports based on practical experience show that different weight classes can be dried together easily; Tec Cell® can just as easily be processed together with traditionally blended fabrics. If the drying processes for Tec Cell® can be controlled separately, it is also possible that the drying cycles for Tec Cell® fabrics can even be cut by 7-8% compared to those of conventional blended fabrics with the same grammage; this allows significant economic savings.

The manufacturing process of the Tencel fibres ensures that there are no pollutants in the fibres and as also 99.5% of the solvent is recovered the fibre is inherently pure.

The more intense the skin contact with a textile (and the more sensitive the skin), the higher the human ecological requirements that have to be met. Work wear is very often worn next to the skin, which is why we make all our Tec Cell® items without using formaldehyde. They are thus also certified as per Product Class 1 (the so-called “Baby Class”) of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100.
